USD Cruises Past Beach 6-0
SAN DIEGO, CA-- The University of San Diego (4-3-0) cruised to a 6-0 victory over visiting Long Beach State (3-3-1), behind two goals from Marie-Claude Henry and a goal and an assist from Kaitlyn Pruett. San Diego scored twice in the first half behind 12 first shots to lead 2-0 after the first 45 minutes. Pruett was a part of each goal, scoring off a corner kick from Marie-Claude Henry at 13:46, before her rebounded shot led to Veronica Ambort's netfinder in the 33rd minute. USD added four second half goals to cruise to the victory, two by Henry. The Toreros outshot The Beach 22-to-6 for the contest. LBSU has now dropped three straight after starting the season undefeated at 3-0-1. The 49ers ended a week which saw them play on Monday, come back late Wednesday night and then play Friday. The 49ers next travel to Omaha for the Creighton Classic next weekend against South Dakota State (Friday) and Creighton (Sunday). | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
