Cervenka Collects Second BWC Honor 49ers Have Won a Season-High 11 Straight Games
March 29, 2004 IRVINE, CA -- For the second straight week, Long Beach State pitcher Meredith Cervenka, was named as the Big West Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. This is her second Pitcher of the Week award and sixth for her career.
Cervenka (La Crescenta, Calif.) tossed her second straight no-hitter in a 1-0 victory over Dartmouth College on Mar. 25. Cervenka also hurled 13 strikeouts, equaling her career-high, and tying the school record for most strikeouts in a single game. Cervenka's 13 strikeouts also gave her 77 for the season and 362 for her career, vaulting her to No. 2 all-time at The Beach. Cervenka has compiled an 11-3 mark with a 1.39 ERA this season. She has pitched 26.0 consecutive scoreless innings since Mar. 13.
