Temidara Has Two Top Finishes in Jumps

Temidara Leaps to Top Finishes at Stanford PALO ALTO, CA-- John Temidara lept past the competition at the Stanford Invitational, winning the triple jump with a leap of 49'2.5", 15 minutes after finishing second in the high jump with a height of 7'0.25" Both heights were the tops of any 49er this season, as his high jump tied Bill Heitchew's 1975 jump for fourth place all-time. Holly Lipscomb and Megan Irey finished second and third in the triple jump, as Lipscomb lept to a lifetime-best of 38'11.5", while Irey had her second-best jump of her collegiate career with a distance of 38'10.5". Stephanie Sampson finished in eighth place in the hammer with a toss of 185'6", while Meghan Atkinson had a season-best 57.94 in the 400-meter. "I think we fell short of our team goals, coming in," said Head Coach Andy Sythe."But we had some individual success and we look forward to the next couple of weeks where we can step up." |
