Boyke Named Assistant Coach

LONG BEACH, CA -- Brian Gimmillaro, head coach of the Long Beach State women's volleyball team, has announced Friday, that volunteer assistant coach, Kevin Boyke, has been promoted to assistant coach.

Boyke will assume assistant coach responsibilities, after serving two seasons as the volunteer assistant coach, for the 2004 season. Boyke currently serves as the head coach of the "18-1 Cal Juniors" (a Division I SCVA volleyball squad). This past summer, Boyke's "18 Open" team earned a bronze medal in the Junior Olympics in Atlanta, and featured the likes of a "Fab 50" player, four high school All-Americans, and two USA All-Americans.

Boyke graduated from UC Berkeley in 1997 with a BA in History.
