49ers Tied For First Place After Day One
Edwards Shoots a Two-Round 138
September 25, 2003 CORVALLIS, OR --The Long Beach State men's golf team shot a two-round score of 569, good enough for a first place tie with UC Irvine in the first day of the 2003 Northwest Collegiate Classic at the Par 72 Trysting Tree Golf Course.
Torey Edwards paced Long Beach State with an opening round 36 hole total of 138 (72 and 66), good enough for the second highest two round total. Teammate Brad Saukkola (tied for 12th place) wasn't too far behind with a two-round 142 (70 and 72). Bret Lederer (145) and Ryan Wood (145) are both tied for 23rd place, and Chris Gilley rounded out the day with a 147 for The Beach.
