Ten Athletes Continue on to NCAA Regionals at Stanford

LONG BEACH, CA-- The track and field team ended its regular season last weekend at Northridge in the Big West Conference Championships. Ten athletes will continue on to the NCAA Regional qualifying meet in two weeks at Stanford University in hopes of qualifying for the NCAA National Championships in Sacramento June 11-14.

Cory Loebl (Portland, OR; discus, hammer), Ronald Carter (Los Angeles; triple jump), Haben Hagos (Los Angeles; high jump), Steve Holland (Whittier; hammer), Adrian Ruark (Point Loma; pole vault), and Frank Rodriguez (San Pedro; javelin) will represent the men's team.

Gladys Iwuaba (San Diego; triple jump), Stephanie Sampson (Yorba Linda; hammer and discus), Shannon Daniels (Upland; hammer), Christina Lee (Burbank; pole vault) and Jennifer Yadon (Lancaster; 3000m steeplechase) will represent the women..
