Beach Fills Out Its Team for 2003
Four Prep Stars and Four Transfers Make Up Majority of Recruiting Class
LONG BEACH, CA-- Head Coach Peter Reynaud announced today that four high school seniors and four college transfers have officially committed to the Long Beach State women's soccer program for the fall of 2003.
"With this talented group of women, we have been able to fill out our midfield and defense with some quality players who have gained experience playing in the Premier League, the strongest club league in the state," said Reynaud. "This class will improve our quality of play and will make us very competitive in conference. It is definately my top class since I've been here."
TRANSFERS
GK-Tara Gotthardt (Pleasanton, CA/UCLA/Pleasanton Rage Club/Amador Valley HS)... already attending LBSU and practicing with team... a transfer from UCLA... redshirted as a freshman last year at goalkeeper... all-league as a senior in high school.
Reynaud's Scouting Report: "Very tall, tenacious, very focused and a very skilled goalkeeper."
F-Erin McGuire (Fair Oaks, CA/Tennessee Tech/San Juan Spirits/Bella Vista HS), a transfer from Tennessee Tech... was an Ohio Valley Conference first team selection last year as a freshman... three-time all-league as a prep... member of Olympic development state team.
Reynaud's Scouting Report: "Tall, strong, dominating central fullback who was recruited last year, but we're glad she's decided to transfer."
MF-Noriann Readdy (Davis, CA/Colorado College/San Juan Spirits/Davis HS), a transfer from Colorado College... missed most of her freshman year due injury, played in nine matches with seven starts and one assist, as team won six over that stretch... league MVP as a sophomore in high school, three-time all-league... member of Olympic Development state team.

F-Rebecca Hidalgo (LaCrescenta, CASan Jose State/Pasadena CC/Crescenta Valley HS), a transfer from San Jose State... led SJSU with five goals last year as a junior... former JUCO All-American at Pasadena CC... scored 41 goals in two season at PCC... two-time All-CIF.
