Two Players Transfer to Beach

Two Transfers Commit to Beach LONG BEACH, CA-- Crystal McCutcheon became the second player to transfer to the Long Beach State womens basketball team this month, as the former Pepperdine guard signed a Financial Aid Agreement to attend LBSU this fall. McCutcheon averaged 2.0 points as a freshman, appearing in 28 of the Waves 31 games. She averaged 9.4 minutes per game. The 5-8 guard from Antelope Valley High, was named the Los Angeles Times and Daily News Player of the Year after averaging 14.8 points, eight rebounds, 7.5 assists and 6.0 steals in 2000-01. Petra Glaser (Amtsberg, Germany), a 6-6 center for the German National Team, who spent the previous two seasons at UNLV, has signed a Financial Aid Agreement to attend Long Beach State and play as a junior for the womens basketball team starting in the 2003-04 season. Glaser, who will redshirt the 2002-03 season, was an honorable mention All-Mountain West selection last year, averaging 9.5 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. Both totals ranked third on the Rebels. In her two seasons in Las Vegas, the German native averaged 10.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. McCutcheon will be a sophomore in 2003-04. Head Coach Dallas Bollas enters her eighth year at the helm of the 49ers. The Beach returns two starters, and open the season November 23 when they host San Diego. | |||||||||||||||||
