Six 49ers Named Academic All-Big West

Fall Academic All-Big West Teams Announced

December 3, 2002

IRVINE, CA-- Six Long Beach State athletes were named Academic All-Big West Tuesday, four of them earning the distinct honor of being named both an academic and athletic all-conference selection.

Brittany Hochevar and Erika Chidester were first and honorable mention selections, respectively, in volleyball, Jennifer Yadon finished fourth at the Cross Country Championships, while Abie Curry became the 49ers all-time leading scorer in being named honorable mention.

Yadon, has already earned All-Regional honors, while Hochevar is likely to be named an All-American for the second straight year.

Also making the Academic All-Big West squad were cross country runners Kenny Lawrence and Cory Martin.
