| Santos Signs National Letter of Intent Two National Teamers to Play for The Beach in 2003-04
LONG BEACH, CA-- Head Women's Basketball Coach Dallas Bolla announced today that Brazilian National Teamer Fernanda Santos (Sao Paulo, Brazil) has signed a National Letter of Intent to come to Long Beach State for the 2003-04 season. Santos is the second National Teamer to commit to play for The Beach for the 2003-04 season.
Santos, a 6-3 guard, will play her sophomore season at Grayson Junior College (TX) after playing at Lee Univeristy (TN) as a freshman.
"She is a big time player," said Bolla. "I think she will add a lot to the team. She can shoot the three, drive, rebound, she can do a lot. We are pretty happy to get her. With her, Crystal and Petra, we are done recruiting for next year."
The 49ers outbattled Texas, Texas Tech, Nebraska and Auburn to land Santos.
Santos, will join another National Teamer on the roster, in 6-6 junior center Petra Glaser, a member of the German National team. Glaser is redshirting after transferring from UNLV. Sophomore guard Crystal McCutcheon, who is also redshirting after transferring from Pepperdine, rounds out the class of 2003-04. |
