Michael Kurthy was promoted to Assistant Director of Facilities, Operations, and Event Management in 2022 after years of service in multiple roles within Long Beach State Athletics. Kurthy oversees event management, staffing, and day-to-day facility operations across LBSU Athletics venues.
Kurthy started at Long Beach State in 2007 as part-time event staff and later served as an event supervisor. He also has prior experience at Long Beach City College and in the private event management sector.
Born in Houston, Texas, he has lived in California since 1988Â and is an alumnus of both Long Beach City and Long Beach State.Â
