Melissa Vasquez joined the Long Beach State Athletics staff in 2022 as an Academic Advisor for Student-Athletes. She works closely with the Men’s and Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country and Men’s Water Polo programs, providing academic counseling, eligibility guidance, and support services to ensure student-athlete success. Prior to LBSU, Vasquez held roles in academic advising and student services at Universal Technical Institute and Covina High School, where she also served as a longtime volleyball coach. A former collegiate volleyball player herself, Vasquez earned her bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from Otterbein College and holds a master’s in Academic Advising from Kansas State University. She brings a strong commitment to student development, mentorship, and fostering academic achievement.
