Loren Edwards joined the Bickerstaff Academic Center in 2019 as Assistant Director, Academic Support Programs. In her role, Loren oversees the BAC’s tutoring and academic mentoring programs, co-leads the departments first-year academic success courses, and provides hands-on support to student-athletes and BAC peer staff through every step of their college journey.
With over 20 years of experience in academic advising and student success, Loren has held a variety of leadership roles at California State University, Dominguez Hills and Long Beach State. Her work has centered on designing and implementing dynamic retention and graduation initiatives, as well as leading a range of student development programs that promote engagement, persistence, and achievement.
Originally from San Diego, Loren earned her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology – Exercise Science from Long Beach State in 2007 and a master’s in Academic Advising from Kansas State University in 2017. When not in the BAC or the stands, Loren can most likely be found hanging with her best friend, Hurley the dog.
