Kristopher Castañeda was promoted to Blair Field Manager in 2023, bringing full circle a journey that began with the Long Beach State Dirtbags during the 2016–2017 season. In his first stint with the program, Castañeda served as an assistant, playing a key role during a landmark season in which the Dirtbags hosted both NCAA Regionals and Super Regionals. His return in a leadership role reflects not only his deep connection to the program but also his continued growth and expertise in sports turf management.
In addition to his responsibilities at Blair Field, Castañeda has been a dedicated member of the Los Angeles Dodgers Grounds crew for over 15 years. Balancing his duties at both the collegiate and professional levels, he has built a strong reputation in the industry, marked by a commitment to excellence and a passion for maintaining elite playing surfaces for athletes at every level.
