Beach Hires Tyler Hendrickson As Associate Media Relations Director

Hendrickson spent the last five years with the Gazettes Newspapers as a staff writer.

Tyler Hendrickson joins the media relations staff in 2015, working with the women's volleyball, baseball, and women's tennis programs. He comes to Long Beach State with five years of experience in the newspaper industry, serving as a sportswriter and editor for the Grunion Gazette sports section while regularly contributing stories to the Long Beach Press-Telegram.

Hendrickson spent three seasons as the radio broadcaster for the Long Beach State women's basketball team, and has previous broadcasting experience with the baseball and volleyball programs at The Beach. He is a proud Long Beach native and alumnus of the university, earning a bachelor's degree in business management in 2011 and a master's in sport management in 2013. Hendrickson grew up on the Long Beach State campus, participating in both the Young Writers' Camp and 49er Camp as a kid.
