Former LBSU Administrator Bob Donlan Has Died
Donlan had a long career in education, administration and coaching.

Long Beach, Calif. - Former Long Beach State senior administrator Bob Donlan passed away peacefully on July 17 at the age of 78.
Donlan worked for nearly 20 years at Long Beach State, coming to the University in 1975 and teaching classes as well as serving as an Associate Athletics Director until 1993. In that role, Donlan primarily supervised men's sports at Long Beach State, and played a role in hiring many of the successful coaches during his tenure. After his departure, Donlan went on to work at both Chapman and USC before his retirement.
After playing basketball collegiately at Nevada, Donlan began his career in collegiate athletics by working as a coach with the Wolf Pack. Moves to Sonoma State and Utah followed before Donlan and his family headed to the Beach.
A celebration of life will be held on August 17, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Long Beach. All who knew Bob and his family are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in Bob's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
