Four Women’s Basketball Student-Athletes Earn Winter Academic All-Conference Honors

IRVINE, Calif. – Four players from the Long Beach State Women's Basketball team were recognized by The Big West on Monday as 2024-25 Winter Academic All-Conference honorees. The quartet of Patricia Chung, Kennan Ka, Lovley Sonnier, and Savannah Tucker garnered the accolades after posting a minimum GPA of 3.00.
In order to qualify for Academic All-Conference honors, a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA, must have completed in one full academic year at the member institution prior to the season for which the award is being received, and must have competed in at least 50 percent of the institution's contests in the student-athlete's respective sport.
The Big West recognized 221 student-athletes across 11 member institutions. Among those, only three had a perfect 4.0 GPA. LBSU senior Patricia Chung, who is a graduate student earning her Master's Degree in exercise psychology, was one of the three who boasted a 4.0.
Ka is a junior marketing major at Long Beach State, while Sonnier is a senior who is getting her degree in consumer affairs, and Tucker is a graduate student working towards a Master's Degree in Sport Management.
