Women’s Basketball Secures Additional Division I Transfer In Judit Oliva Fernandez

Fernandez redshirted last year in her first year in the United States at South Florida.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Women's Basketball Head Coach Amy Wright and her staff have announced that South Florida transfer and Spain International Judit Oliva Fernandez will join Long Beach State for the upcoming 2024-25 season.

Oliva Fernandez redshirted at USF last season while getting her feet wet in Division I following a tremendous club career with Barca in Spain while also competing at the youth national level with Spain, primarily in 3x3.Playing in the 2022 FIBA U17 3x3 competition for Spain, Oliva Fernandez came in second place as a team with an average of 17.2 points per game. She also competed at the U18 level for Spain in 3x3, also earning a podium finish while averaging 18.1 points per game. Oliva Fernandez also participated in three straight girls' basketball camps for the Spanish National Team for the U16, U17 and U18 teams.
In club play, she averaged 11 points per game while averaging 7.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game with Barca in the Spanish Championship. Her club claimed the Silver Medal in the Spanish Club Championship at the U18 level, and won the Gold Medal in the 2022 Catalonian Championship.
"We are pleased to welcome Judit to the Beach," said head coach Amy Wright. "Judit has a unique skill set that will flow seamlessly into what we do offensively. Her background in international 3 on 3 competitions fits well into our half-court offense and she is a player that can be disruptive on the defensive end."
