No. 2 Long Beach State Earns Its 14th NCAA Men’s National Collegiate Volleyball Championship Appearance

The Beach will face No. 7 Belmont Abbey on Tuesday, April 30 in the NCAA Quarterfinals
INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA Men's Volleyball Committee announced the eight-team field for the 2024 National Collegiate Men's Volleyball Championship, and No. 2 Long Beach State will face No. 7 Belmont Abbey on Tuesday, April 30. The NCAA Tournament will be held at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, Calif., hosted by the Beach.
The Beach punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament after winning their second Big West Championship last night with a 3-1 victory over UC Irvine to improve their overall record to 25-2. Long Beach State will be making its 14th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history, and seventh showing in the last eight seasons.
Rounding out the NCAA Tournament field are No. 1 seed UCLA (23-5), No. 3 Grand Canyon (25-4), No. 4 UC Irvine (19-10), No. 5 Penn State (23-6), No. 6 Ohio State (22-8), No. 7 Belmont Abbey (21-4), and No. 8 Fort Valley State (13-7).
The NCAA Tournament begins with the quarterfinals on Tuesday, April 30. The Final Four will be played on Thursday, May 2, and the Championship match will be played on Saturday, May 4 at 2 p.m. and will be televised live on ESPN2.
