COLFAX, Wash.—Long Beach State competed in the NCAA West Regional cross country meet on Nov. 15 at the Colfax Golf Course.

WOMEN
Leia Jones was the top performer for the Beach. She ran 21:17.4 on the 6k course to finish 87th.

Marikay Schwab finished 104th, going 21:32.8. Allie Scimia placed 126th at 21:53.0. Louise Stonham ran 21:54.9 to come in 21:54.9. Mackenzie Hack was the final scorer in133rd (21:58.2). Also running for LBSU in the meet were Alyssa Tapanes who finished 155th (22:10.5) and Jadyn Palaschuk who placed 211th (22:46.5).

Among 39 teams, Long Beach State scored 570 points to finish 18th. The LBSU showing was the best for the program at the regional meet since Long Beach State finished 18th at the NCAA West Regional in 2012. Oregon was the champion (15). Amy Bunnage of Stanford topped the field of 263 entries with a time of 19:17.1.

Levi Taylor was the fastest LBSU runner at the regional meet. Running a 10k for the first time in an LBSU uniform, Taylor went 31:38.3 to finish 111th in the field of 210.

Cameron Rhone finished 123rd (31:45.3). Kyle Reden placed 150th by lowering his career-best in the 10k by 10 seconds to 32:22.5. Cameron Gill was 173rd (33:07.4). Ethan Florez competed in his first 10k and posted a time of 34:17.8.

As a team, Long Beach State finished 26th (742). Washington (66) was the team champion. Washington State's Evans Kurui was the individual winner, running 28:53.7.
