James Brash and Caleb Kim are coming to the Beach in Fall 2025.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Men's Golf Head Coach Rob Murray has announced two commitments made in the November window, as James Brash and Caleb Kim will join Long Beach State next season.
Caleb Kim is a high school senior at Sunny Hills High School, where he has dominated through his first three seasons. A three-time Team MVP, Kim helped lead the Lancers to the CIF-Southern Section Division I championship in 2023, and has had a strong junior career as well.
"Caleb is a strong player with a lot of success on the Junior Toyota Tour Cup here in Southern California. He has a strong work ethic and is very consistent with six Top 20 finishes, including a win and two Top 5 finishes. He'll fit in seamlessly with the great tradition of Long Beach State golf and we are excited to welcome him," said Murray.
In his most recent finish, Kim was the runner-up at the SC PGA TTC Patrick Cantlay Series with rounds of 66 and 67, and won the Len Kennett Junior Championship earlier in the year by seven strokes after two rounds under par of 68 and 69. Kim also was a podium finisher at the 2023 Southern California Junior Amateur Championship, finishing in third place.
James Brash joins the team out of the UK, joining a recent tradition of English players coming to the Beach. Hailing from Surrey, Brash led the Reed's School as its Golf Captain, winning back-to-back National Titles as a foursomes team in 2022 and 2023.
"James is coming to Long Beach on the back of an impressive season. With two wins and 8 top five finishes, James will bring a ton of international experience to our roster and I'm excited to see him continue to develop during his time here with Long Beach State Men's Golf.
Brash was the runner-up at the West of England U18 Championship, and has multiple wins as part of youth international competition competing for England. He was also the 2024 Surrey Men's Amateur Champion and finished in the Top 10 at the R&A British Boys Amateur Championship.
