Long Beach State Women’s Hoops Signs Jada Crawshaw and Emily Foy The pair of incoming freshmen will come to the Beach from Australia

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Head Women's Basketball Coach Amy Wright announced the signing of freshmen Australians Jada Crawshaw and Emily Foy as she continues to build her team for the 2023-24 season.

Crawshaw is a 6-foot-2 power forward who hails from Sydney, Australia where she averaged 15.8 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per game while playing for the Sydney Comets. She also gained experience with the Sydney Flames. Additionally, Crawshaw was selected to the All-Australian Team and went on to win the All Schools Australian Championships. Crawshaw's talents also earned her a spot on the U19 Aus Gems squad where she competed at the Centre of Excellence on one of four junior national team camps.

"Jada is an exciting addition because she has the ability to play both sides of the basketball," said Wright. "We want her to continue to grow her game, inside and out, in order to become the best player she can be at the Beach. Her consistent work ethic will help us propel her to be a huge asset for the Beach."

Foy is a 6-foot-1 power forward who will come to Long Beach State from Newcastle, Australia. She played for the Newcastle Falcons and averaged 10.5 points per game and 3.3 rebound per set. Foy also prepped at St. Francis Xavier's College before making the New South Wales Country Team in 2018, 2019, and 2020. In 2020, she earned an NWSCCC Blue Award in the sport of basketball, which is awarded to one representative for the sport across both genders. Foy joined Crawshaw on the U19 Aus Gems squad as the pair competed together at the Centre of Excellence.

"Emmy brings a versatile package of skill to the Beach," said Wright. "An inside out player, she has probably one of the quickest releases on her shot I've seen in a while. She will continue to grow as a player and person in our system. I'm excited for her to arrive to campus."

Crawshaw and Foy will join freshman guard Lauren Cummings as part of the incoming recruiting class for the 2023-24 Long Beach State Women's Basketball season.
