Murphy would finish the game with eight points as the Beach held a 19-7 lead over UC Davis at the end of the first quarter.

After closing out the first quarter with three-straight points, LBSU continued its run in the second quarter as the Beach scored seven consecutive points to extend their lead to 26-7 after the 10-0 run. UC Davis stepped things up in the second half, but Long Beach State's already commanding lead was too much for the Aggies to overcome. Despite outscoring LBSU 18-16 in the frame, the Beach pushed their already large lead to 26 (44-18) in the quarter before taking a 58-36 lead into the fourth.

In the final quarter, the Beach were held to just 20.0 percent shooting, while the Aggies shot 44.4 percent from the field. Despite the difference, Long Beach State remained in control as the Beach cruised to a 66-45 victory.

UC Davis' Evanne Turner turned in a solid showing with a 20-point performance to lead all scorers, while Megan Norris added nine boards, and Tess Sussman dished out six assists and three steals.
