Ted Kadowaki Named Interim Director Of Athletics

Kadowaki served as the athletics fiscal manager from 1998 to 2005 before moving to CSULB administration.
Dear Beach Community:As you know, Andy Fee is leaving us as Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. He has our deepest appreciation for his many contributions to Beach Athletics.
I've received much input about short- and long-term opportunities in our athletics program, including ideas about interim leadership.
I'm so pleased that Ted Kadowaki has agreed to serve as our Interim Executive Director of Athletics starting on September 1st and continuing into summer 2023 when we anticipate recruiting a new permanent director. Ted is not new to Beach Athletics: he served as the program's fiscal manager from 1998 through 2005 before serving as the university's associate vice president of budget and administration through October 2020.
Along with the change in leadership for the department, we will also make an organizational change with Ted reporting to Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Scott Apel. This new reporting structure will allow for enhanced planning and expertise in supporting the program.
I'm so appreciative of all of our coaches, staff, scholar-athletes, fans, and donors – especially during this time of transition. Many have also pledged to "lean in" even further to assist Ted and all of our efforts to advance the proud tradition of this remarkable Division I program.
