Jeskeova Named Big West Player of the Week

The junior guard earned the honors after averaging a double-double last week at the Beach Classic

IRVINE, Calif. – After turning in a career performance at the Beach Classic last week, Kristyna Jeskeova was named Big West Player of the Week by the conference on Monday afternoon.

Jeskeova was outstanding at the Beach Classic as she averaged a double-double with 15.5 points per game and 12.5 rebounds per game and was selected to the Beach Classic All-Tournament Team. She shot 57.1 percent (12-21) from the field and totaled 31 points, 25 rebounds, six steals, three blocks, and two assists, while recording a pair of double-doubles.

The junior guard kicked off the tournament with a 10-point, 15-rebound performance as she helped lead Long Beach State to a 69-55 win over Dartmouth on Friday. In that game, she also collected six steals and two blocks.

Jeskeova came back the next day and poured in a career-high 21 points to go along with 10 boards, two assists, and one block as the Beach came up just short in a 56-50 loss to Southern Miss.
