
Long Beach State Finishes Season at NCAA West Regionals

The women’s team finished 24th while the men finished 23rd.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Long Beach State closed out the 2021 season at the Haggin Oaks Golf Course in Sacramento, Calif. The women finished 24th out of 35 teams with 661 total points while the men finished 23rd of 29 with 611 points.
It marks the best finish for the women's team since the 2012 regionals when they finished 18th.

Ryley Fick led the way for the Beach women finishing 85th with a time of 21:36.3, improving on her 2019 Regionals time by over a minute. It marks the highest individual finish for the program since Hillary Zator finished 46th in 2013.
Bronwyn Bunnell crossed the line second for Long Beach State with a 22:23.7 in 137th place.
Anitha Graves (22:25.0) and Brieanna Tafoya (22:25.7) finished back-to-back in the top 150 with Allie Scimia (22:40.1) finishing as the final LBSU scorer.
On the men's side, Michael Phillips paced the Beach, crossing the line in 85th with a time of 31:41.4. Raymon Ornelas was second across at 32:14.5 in 108th.
Ricky Villa (32:32.5) and Alex Kalmar (32:43.2) were third and fourth across the line for Long Beach State, setting personal bests in the race. Jacob Korgan was the final Beach scorer at 33:23.3.
Stanford swept both the men's and women's titles, totaling 42 points on the women's side and 61 for the men.
