LBSU In First Place After Day One In Dallas

DALLAS, Texas - After one round of play at the Bob Sitton Invitational, Long Beach State leads the field of 24 teams at TPC Four Seasons Las Colinas Golf Course.
LBSU posted an opening round score of even 284 to take a one-shot lead over second-place Illinois State (+1) and four strokes over Arkansas State and UT Arlington (+4) tied for third.
Freshman Kymer Li was the top player for the 49ers, firing a 3-under-par 68 to tie for first with two other players.
Li was bogey-free through 17 holes as he recorded four birdies. On his last hole of the round, he picked up his only bogey on the par-4 18th.
Sophomore Patrick Pockels sits just two shots behind at 1-under, tying for sixth, while redshirt sophomore Joe Fryer finished with an even-par, tying for 12th.
Sophomore Andres Gonzalez is tied for 52nd after carding a 75 and freshman Hunter Reed is tied for 73rd after posting a 76.
Second round play is scheduled for Wednesday with the 49ers teeing off at 8:45 a.m. (PT)/10:45 a.m. (CT).
