FIRST TEE
After a two-week break, the Long Beach State men's golf team returns to the greens to host the 21st Del Walker Intercollegiate at Virginia Country Club in Long Beach. The two-day, 54-hole tournament begins on Monday (Feb. 27) with first and second round action beginning with a 9 a.m. (PT) shotgun start, followed by final round play concluding on Tuesday (Feb. 28) beginning with 8:30 a.m. (PT) tee times.
DEL WALKER FIELD
LBSU will be among a 14-team field at this year's 21st Del Walker Intercollegiate, as the 49ers will compete with CSUN, Boise State, Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Loyola Marymount, Pacific, Redlands, Southern Utah, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, Utah State and Wichita State.
49ERS' STARTING TEN
Joe Fryer, Kymer Li, Andres Gonzalez, Hunter Reed and Patrick Pockels will represent LBSU as the "A" team, while Agostino Milazzo, Spencer Koch, Jonny Hogan, Nick Choi and Tanner Dice will the Beach as the "B" team.

SPECTATOR INFORMATION
Admission is free to all spectators, with limited parking available at Virginia Country Club. The dress code at Virginia Country Club is strictly enforced and applies to all coaches, players, staff and spectators (this applies to the practice facilities as well). Those that are not in compliance may be asked to leave the premises. No jeans, cargo shorts and/or flip flops.
LAST YEAR AT THE DEL
LBSU came up short at last year's 20th Del Walker Intercollegiate as the 49ers finished just one shot behind team champion Cal Poly. The Beach completed the two-day, three-round tournament at 1-under-par 839. Former 49er, Michael Chen captured individual medalist with a 9-under 201, winning by six shots for his first career tournament win.
LAST TIME OUT
The 49ers are coming off from a third-place finish at the Pizza Hut Pat Hicks Invitational in St. George, Utah. LBSU completed the two-day, 36-hole tournament at 2-under 574, finishing five shots behind second-place Utah State (-7) and 14 strokes behind team champion Utah Valley (-16). Freshman Kymer Li, competing as an individual, finished runner-up at 7-under 13, just one stroke behind first-place.
LBSU OPENS SPRING SEASON WITH TOURNAMENT WIN
The 49ers opened the spring season at the Folino Invitational in Industry, Calif., as the Beach took home both the team and individual titles. LBSU won by two-shots with an 8-over 827 over second-place UC Santa Barbara (+10) and redshirt sophomore Joe Fryer captured individual medalist by five strokes with a 7-under 209, recording his first career tournament win.
49ERS CLOSE OUT FALL SEASON IN HAWAI'I
LBSU closed out the fall season with a 16th place finish at the 24-team Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic at the Ka'anapali Golf Course in Oahu. The 49ers recorded a three-round score of 16-over 868. Andres Gonzalez was the top player for the Beach, tying for 10th with an 8-under 205.
PAUL GOYDOS WINS CHARLES SCHWAB CUP CHAMPIONSHIP
Former LBSU men's golfer Paul Goydos captured the Charles Schwab Cup Championship back on Nov. 13 at the Desert Mountain Club Cochise Course. Goydos held off Bernhard Langer of Germany by two strokes to finish the season-ending tournament at 15-under-par 195. This was Goydos' fifth win overall on the PGA Champions Tour and second tournament victory this season after capturing the Dick's Sporting Goods Open by two shots in Endicott, N.Y. He won twice on the PGA Tour and shot a 59 in the 2010 John Deere Classic. Goydos will close out the PGA Champions Tour season in third in the Schwab Cup Points. The Charles Schwab Cup is a season-long, earnings-based competition launched in 2001 to determine the PGA Tour Champions' top player.
BIG WEST CHAMPIONSHIP HEADS UP THE COAST
The 2017 Big West Conference Men's Golf Championship will head up the central coast to Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara. The three-day, 54-hole tournament begins on Monday, May 1. The winning team of the league championship receives the automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
