
Long Beach State Wins Third In A Row At CSUN

Long Beach, Calif. - Long Beach State continued to have CSUN's number this season, winning 5-0 for the second time on the year, this time on the road in Northridge. All five flights did not drop a match in the road win.
Long Beach State's closest match came in the top flight, where the 49ers rode 20 kills from Chelsea Cabrajac to outlast Casey Hinger and Kelcie Randazzo 21-18, 21-16.
Rachel Nieto and Sammee Thomas were dominant in a win at No. 5, dropping Cieana Stinson and Stephanie Serna 21-6, 21-10 as Thomas finished with five aces in the second set alone, part of eight on the match for the duo in the convincing win against CSUN (3-8)
The 49ers won all three of the other matches as well. Anete Brinke had 14 kills and four aces in a 21-12, 21-15 win with Tyler Jackson over Haina/Sato as the pair improved to 7-1 on the year. Bre Mackie had four blocks and 19 kills in a 21-15, 21-12 win against Julie Haake and Nicolette Pinkney, and Andrea McHugh made 11 second set kills, part of 13 total on the match to help her and Ciana Wagner defeat Alia Casion and Nada Dragovic in the fourth flight.
Long Beach State (6-2) returns home on Saturday, hosting a three-way dual match between Bakersfield, No. 8 UCLA and No. 5 Beach.
