FIRST TEE
The Long Beach State men's golf makes the short trek up to Simi Valley for the 20th Bill Cullum Invitational hosted by CSUN. The two-day, 54-hole tournament begins on Monday (Oct. 19) with first and second round action starting with an 7:45 a.m. shotgun start, followed by final round play concluding on Tuesday (Oct. 20) with tee times beginning at 7 a.m.. All three rounds will be contested at Wood Ranch Golf Club (par-72, 6,819-yards) in Simi Valley. LBSU will be paired with Cal State Fullerton, Northern Colorado and Seattle for the first two rounds and will begin on holes 11-15.
BILL CULLUM FIELD
LBSU will be among a 16-team field at this year's Bill Cullum Invitational as the 49ers will compete against Boise State, Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, CSUN, Hawai'i, Loyola Marymount, Northern Colorado, Pepperdine, Santa Clara, Seattle, Southern Utah, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara and Utah State.
49ERS STARTING FIVE + INDY
Seniors Michael Chen, Daniel Chian and Kevin Lee, junior Jonny Hogan and freshman Patrick Pockels will represent the 49ers at the Bill Cullum Invitational. Freshman Spencer Koch will compete as an individual for LBSU.

LAST YEAR IN SIMI VALLEY
LBSU will be looking to improve from its performance at last year's 20-team Bill Cullum Invitational, where the 49ers finished in 13th place. The Beach posted a three round score of 16-over 880 after recording rounds of 292, 292 and 296. Senior Daniel Chian was the top player for the 49ers, tying for 17th with a 1-under 215.
LAST TIME OUT
The 49ers are coming off from a sixth-place tie at the 13-team Nick Watney Invitational in Fresno, Calif. LBSU turned in a three round score of 4-under 848 to tie with San Diego. Senior Kevin Lee led the way for the Beach, tying for 10th at 4-under 209, followed by fellow classmates Michael Chen and Daniel Chian tying for 18th at 2-under 211.
CHIAN NAMED BIG WEST GOLFER OF THE MONTH
Senior Daniel Chian was named Big West Conference Men's Golfer of the Month for September. Chian tied for 10th place at the season opening Golfweek Conference Challenge in Burlington, Iowa, completing the three-day, 54-hole tournament at 5-under-par 211. The Covina, Calif. native fired a career-low 65 in the final day that was highlighted by a bogey-free round that included seven birdies and 11 pars. Following rounds of 74 and 72 in the first two rounds, Chian jumped up the leaderboard by 20 spots after last Sunday's final round to tie for 10th with fellow classmate Michael Chen. LBSU finished the three-day, 54-hole tournament in seventh among 15 teams. This marked Chian's second Big West Golfer of the Month honors as he was awarded in October of 2013.
BEACH PLACES SEVENTH AT GOLFWEEK CONFERENCE CHALLENGE
LBSU kicked off the 2015-16 campaign at the season-opening 15-team Golfweek Conference Challenge in Burlington, Iowa with a seventh-place finish. The 49ers finished the three-day tournament at 3-under 861 as seniors Michael Chen and Daniel Chian led the way for the Beach. The senior duo tied for 10th at 5-under 211 as both players recorded birdie-free rounds on the final day of competition with Chian posting a career-low 65.
49ERS HOST 20TH DEL WALKER INTERCOLLEGIATE
LBSU is set to host the 20th Del Walker Intercollegiate Golf Classic at Virginia Country Club in Long Beach. The two-day, 54-hole tournament begins on Monday, Feb. 29 with first and second round action and final round play concluding on Tuesday, Mar. 1.
BIG WEST CHAMPIONSHIP HEADS TO THE VALLEY
The 2016 Big West Conference Men's Golf Championship heads to Simi Valley as the three-day tournament will take place at the Wood Ranch Country Club, May 2-4 hosted by CSUN.
COMING ATTRACTIONS
The 49ers return to action on Thursday, Oct. 29 for the three-day Pacific Invitational at the Stockton Golf & Country Club in Stockton, Calif.
