IRVINE, Calif. - Kevin Lim was named Big West Conference Golfer of the Month for March, the league office announced on Thursday.
This is the first-ever monthly award for the senior from Seoul, Korea since being named Big West Co-Freshman of the Year in 2009.
Lim recorded his second consecutive top-10 finish and third overall as he tied for fifth place at the Duck Invitational earlier this week in Eugene, Ore. Lim recorded a career-low 66 in the final round of the Bandon Dunes Championship in Bandon, Ore. to help the 49ers come from seven strokes behind to tie for first place and share the team title with then-No. 3 Washington.
This is the second consecutive month the 49ers have won the award as senior Kevin Roy took home last month's honor.
Since starting the spring season back in February, the 49ers have steadily climbed in the polls after winning three tournaments (Bill Cullum, Folino, Bandon Dunes) this year. In the latest Golfstat ratings, the 49ers are at No. 45, while in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, LBSU comes in at No. 49.
LBSU returns to action April 2-3, taking part in the OGIO-UCSB Invitational at the Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara.
