Kevin Roy named Big West Conference Golfer of the Month

IRVINE, Calif. - Kevin Roy was selected Big West Conference Men's Golfer of the Month for February, the league office announced on Thursday afternoon.
The senior from Syracuse, N.Y. recorded his second top-10 finish this season and seventh overall as he tied for ninth place at the Folino Invitational and helped the 49ers claim their second team championship this season. Roy finished the three-day, 54-hole tournament with a 5-over-par 221.
Earlier this week, Roy was the only 49er to win all three matches at the LBSU hosted Del Walker Match Play Championship at Virginia Country Club in Long Beach. Roy defeated No. 5 UCLA (3&2) in the opening round and No. 4 USC (2&1) in the afternoon session. In final round play, Roy won his match (1UP) against fellow Big West member UC Davis.
LBSU returns to action, Mar. 5-6, traveling up the San Joaquin Valley for the Fresno State Lexus Classic at Fort Washington Country Club in Fresno.
