49ers Close Out Fall Season In Hawaii

The Long Beach State men's golf team closes out the fall season in Hawai'i as they participate in the 8th annual Turtle Bay Intercollegiate in Kahuku, O'ahu at the Turtle Bay Resort Golf Club. The three-day tournament hosted by the University of Hawaii, begins on Monday, Nov. 10 and concludes on Wednesday, Nov. 12. The tournament will take place on two different courses as rounds one and three will be played at the George Fazio Course (par-72, 6,535 yards) and round two will be played at the Palmer Course (par-72, 7,218 yards). This is the first time, the 49ers have participated in this tournament. All three rounds are scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. Hawaii time.
Ricky Montanez, Steve Gibson, Austin Love, Kevin Lim and Michael Drake will represent the 49ers as they take on 18 teams (Baylor, Cal Poly, College of Charleston, Mississippi State, New Mexico State, Ohio State, Oregon State, Pepperdine, Point Loma Nazarene, Saint Mary's, San Diego State, Santa Clara, UC Irvine, Hawaii, Louisiana-Monroe, UNLV, Texas and Texas-Arlington).
The 49ers are coming off a two-week layoff as they last played at the Bill Cullum Invitational in Simi Valley. LBSU recorded a score of 857 (281-285-291) to finish in third place, just four strokes behind tournament champion and host Cal State Northridge. Sophomores Ricky Montanez (66-72-73) and Issei Suenaga (65-74-72) both tied for sixth as they carded a total of 211.
