Panchipakdee Qualifiers for U.S. Amateur

Panichpakdee Continues Stellar Summer LONG BEACH, CA-- Ryan Panichpakdee, the 2006 Big West Golf Champion, is having a fantastic summer of amateur golf. On Monday, the senior qualified for the U.S. Amateur after a strong showing at the Hacienda Golf Club and previously completing key rounds at the Long Beach Open. Panichpakdee qualified for his latest tournament after fashioning rounds of 73 and 68 at the Hacienda Golf Club for a 3-Under Par 171 and was the Qualifying Medalist. This year's U. S. Amateur will be contested August 21-27 at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, MN. Panichpakdee also qualified for the 2004 U. S. Amateur at Winged Foot Golf Club, but failed to advance to the match play portion of the Championship that year.. Earlier this summer, Panichpakdee won Low Amateur honors in the recently completed Long Beach Open at Skylinks and El Dorado Park golf courses. Ryan recorded rounds of 74-69-72-71 to finish at 1-Under Par for the tournament. Fellow 49er Jeremy Keller won Low Amateur honors at the Open in 2005. |
