Beach In 3rd Place After Two Rounds Todd Saukkola In 3rd Place With a 141
April 26, 2004 MISSION VIEJO, CA-- The Long Beach State men's golf team is in third place after two rounds of the 2004 Big West Conference Championships at Tijeras Creek Golf Course. The Beach shot a 581 over the initial two rounds and trail tournament leader Pacific by just four shots. The Tigers are in first place with a 577 and UC Riverside is in second at 579.
Individually, Todd Saukkola is in third place after shooting a three-under-par 141 (70-71). Jeremy Keller is tied for 12th place with a 145 (72-73) and Brett Lederer is tied for 18th place with a 147 (71-76). Currently tied for the individual lead after two rounds are UC Irvine's Vinnie Poncino (68-71) and Pacific's Chris Wells (71-68), who both shot a five-under-par 139.
The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday.
