49ers Tie For 3rd Place At Northridge Tournament
Beach Shoots 288 In Final Round

SIMI VALLEY, CA-- The Long Beach State men's golf team shot a third round score of 288 and ended up tied for third place at the Bill Cullum/Countrywide Home Loans Intercollegiate at Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley. The 49ers were in seventh place after the first two rounds on Monday, but posted the day's third-best round (288) of the 21 teams in the tournament in the third round to finish with an 873. Cal State Stanislaus won the team title with an 859 and the University of Utah came in second at 867.

Individually, Ryan Wood (71-78-69) and Brett Lederer (70-75-73) both shot a 218 to tie for 16th place overall. Torey Edwards (74-72-74) and Jeremy Keller (77-71-72), who competed as an individual, both tied for 25th place. Billy Moon of CS Stanislaus won the individual title with a 209 (71-69-68).
