49ers Finish 13th At Fresno Lexus Classic
Ryan Ritter Ties For 21st Place
October 11, 2003 FRESNO, CA--The Long Beach State men's golf team finished in 13th place at the Fresno State Lexus Golf Classic at Belmont Country Club in Fresno. The 49ers shot a three-round total of 874, 45 shots off the pace of the winning Colorado State squad (831). San Diego State finished in second place with an 834 and BYU came in third at 841.
Leading the way for The Beach was sophomore Ryan Ritter who shot a two-under-par 214 (72-68-74). Senior Torey Edwards finished strong with a 72 in the third round and tied for 46th place with a 220 (75-73-72), and sophomore Todd Saukkola tied for 51st place with a 221 (73-73-75). Winning the individual title was Colorado State's Nolan Martin who shot a 12-under-par 204 (68-68-68).
The 49ers will next be in action on October 20-21 when they compete at the CSUN Matador Classic.
