Walter Clements

Clements helped lead the 49ers to the 1967 College Division NCAA Championship in Track and Field. He captured two of his All-America honors in 1966 in the high hurdles and intermediate hurdles. He set a school record in the intermediate hurdles that season. In 1967 he repeated as an All-American in both hurdle events and set a school record in the high hurdles. He also ran the third leg on the 400-yard relay team which finished second at the NCAA Championships. Clements earned five All-America honors during his 49er tenure, a feat that has never been equaled at Long Beach State.
