Tim Shaw

Shaw is one of Long Beach's most honored athletes. He won the Sullivan Award, given each year to the nation's most outstanding amateur athlete in 1975. Shaw, like fellow inductee Joan Lind, is a two-time Olympic medal winner. He collected silver medals in 1976 (400m freestyle) and 1984 (water polo). While at LBSU, Shaw as chosen the university's Athlete of the Year three times and the school's top student-athlete twice. He finished fifth or higher (two firsts) nien times in three NCAA meets. He also won countless AAU titles and was a member of four U.S. World Championship teams. Shaw was also the head coach for the 49er swimming program. A part of the CENTURY CLUB'S best moments in the City of Long Beach in February, 2006.
