Peterson, too, is a veteran of the Olympic Games, representing the United States in 1964 and 1968, the first while a student at Long Beach State. Peterson also played in two Pan American Games and the 1967 World Games. She was a five-time USVBA All-American and was national Most Valuable Player in 1969. Peterson also played professional volleyball for three seasons, earning all-star honors in 1975 as a member of the IVC champion Los Angeles Stars. Upon her induction, Peterson was coaching Hawaii-Hilo, producing four NAIA and two AIAW national titles in her first seven years.
