Sandy Winchester

It has become somewhat common place for the 49er softball team to earn a berth in the College World Series - four times in the past five seasons - but it was the strong left arm of Winchester that got them there for the first time, in 1986. Winchester earned all-conference recognition three times and still ranks among career leaders for the 49ers in games pitched (91), complete games (79), innings pitched (662), wins (57), shutouts (38), strikeouts (325) and lowest earned run average (0.48).
