As a tackle, Bolinger was the anchor of the offensive line for the 1975 49er football team that won eight of 10 games. He was a third-round draft choice of the Detroit Lions and played seven seasons with the Lions and three with the Rams. Bolinger went on to be an assistant coach at the University of Utah.
