Roger Hull
- Induction:
- 1989
The Long Beach State of the 1950's was perfect for Hull, a three-sport star at Jordan High and a two-sport standout at Long Beach City College. He had been out of athletics for nearly three years (starting a marriage and a family) when he enrolled at Long Beach State, where he was a two-season standout in football and a three-season star in baseball. Hull was a halfback and punt returner for the 49er football team, but it was in baseball that he excelled. He was the team's most valuable player in 1958 and 1959 and was CCAA batting champion in 1960 (.392). That year, Hull was chosen "49er of the Year."
