Rikard Bergh

A Native of Karlskoga, Sweden, Bergh was a primary factor in Long Beach's best tennis season, a 25-5 record in 1987 that included a fifth-place finish in the NCAA championships. Bergh was 41-16 as the 49ers' No. 1 player in 1986 and 1987 and was a two-time AllAmerican. As a professional, much of his success has been in doubles, but he does count singles victories over Stefan Edberg, John and Patrick McEnroe, Ivan Lendl, Ilie Nastase, Jim Courier, Boris Becker and Michael Chang.
