A four-year letterwinner for the 49er men’s volleyball team (1979-81, 1983)... selected first team All-America in 1983, as well as first team all-conference... second team all-league in 1981 and honorable mention in 1979... was the first, first team All-America selection at Long Beach State... as a senior in 1983 he hit an impressive .358, led the team with 92 total blocks (33 BS/59 BA) and was second with 374 kills and 513 digs... after LBSU he was a seven-time USVBA All-American, with the last time coming in 2000 when the Long Beach men’s team won the 40’s in Columbus, OH... graduated in 1983 with degrees in Radio/TV and Speech Communications.
