One of the best pitchers in Long Beach State history, Meredith Cervenka was an outstanding pitcher that was a three-time Big West Pitcher of the Year, tying the record for the most selections in conference history.

Cervenka led Long Beach State to four NCAA appearances, the first coming in her freshman season to end a two-year drought for the 49er softball program. The next season, Cervenka won the first of three straight co-Big West Pitcher of the Year honors, and led the 49ers to within a game of the super-regionals.

Over the next two seasons, Cervenka continued to pile up the hardware, winning two more co-Pitcher of the Year honors with teammate Marcel Torres while anchoring the pitching staff and leading the 49ers to two more NCAA appearances.

Cervenka remains at the top of the 49er record books as a dominating strikeout pitcher. Her 78 wins are 11 more than the nearest contender, and her 634 career strikeouts are the most in school history. She ranks second in both career appearances (127), innings pitched (763.2), complete games (84), and threw 35 shutouts in her four-year career while posting a career 1.34 ERA.
