Mary Letourneau
- Induction:
- 1999
Letourneau played on four College World Series teams (1990, 1991, 1992, 1993) with the 49ers, and was one of just three 49ers ever to be named an All-American, upon her induction, earning second team honors in 1990. She was a first team All-West Region pick in 1990, and was named first team All-Big West that year, and earned second team all-conference kudos in 1993. She is the only 49er to throw two perfect games, pitched back-to-back vs. San Diego State (4/3/90) and UC Santa Barbara (4/5/90). She finished second all-time in wins, with 64, just one behind leader Stacy Van Essen, and is the 49ers’ all-time leader in innings pitched with 826.2, games pitched, with 131, and complete games, with 92. She ranks second all-time at The Beach in career shutouts (37), third all-time in strikeouts, (324), and fourth all-time in career ERA, at 0.87. Letourneau becomes the third softball player to enter the Hall of Fame, all in the Pete Manarino era.
