In a group of winners, Selsky is a very comfortable member. She has won championships as an athlete at St. Mary's High School, El Camino College, Long Beach State and her club teams. Her first year at Long Beach State, 1972, Selsky led the 49ers to a runner-up finish in the national championships. In 1973, the Selsky-led 49ers captured the national championship. A six-time AAU All-American, elsky played on the 1971 Pan American Games team and in the 1973 University World Games. In 1977, Selsky was an assistant coach for the U.S. University Games team. Selsky was also a coach at Golden West Junior College, which included a state title.
