Huntley began her collegiate education at Oregon State and completed it at Long Beach State. The American record holder in 1974, Huntley competed in the high jump in two Olympic Games (1976 and 1984), earning a bronze medal for a third-place finish in 1984. She went on to be an elementary teacher in Portland, OR.
