Jon Regnier

Jon Regnier was a very integral part of the approval and construction of the Walter Pyramid. Regnier worked in Facilities Management at both Long Beach State and in the CSU Chancellor’s Office. He helped facilitate financing and construction of numerous items on campus. He joined CSULB in 1966 as the Building Coordinator and continued as Associate Vice President of Physical Planning and Facilities Development until 1990. In 1990 he returned to the CSU System Office before retiring in 1998. A Long Beach State graduate, Regnier has been involved in numerous areas regarding athletics. He has been a member of the Director’s Circle for numerous years and has been an active member of the 49er Athletic Foundation Fund Drive. Regnier not only assisted in the design and obtaining monies for the Walter Pyramid, but he also had a hand in the construction and planning of Brotman Hall, and new buildings for Business, Engineering, Music and Dance. He has received two Outstanding Merit Awards from CSULB for his work on space study and minor capital out lay. In 2001 he was honored by the University as the recipient of the President’s Distinguished Service Award.
